Presenter: Ben Moorad

(For those who are new to grant writing or want a fresh perspective on it.) This hands-on, interactive workshop will explore how you can find good funding matches for your work, how grant applications are reviewed, how to turn your ideas into compelling grant narratives and budgets, and how writing grants can aid your artistic process.

Presenter: Ben Moorad is the co-founder of the nonprofit Write Around Portland. He now works as a freelance grant writer and as a professional Interim Director (as part of the Executive Transition Services team at NAO). He's successfully secured grant funding for a wide range of arts organizations, from local theatres to international arts conferences. He's served on several grant award panels for the Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Humanities and RACC. He's received four Individual Artist grants from RACC, and he's been awarded artist's residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Caldera Arts.
